How we handle your data
Last updated: May 16, 2026
BrazilOffshore is an editorial publication. We collect the minimum needed to deliver our content. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018).
Data controller
BrazilOffshore, editor: Arthur Monteiro. Contact and DPO: arthurrlmonteiro@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we store: your email address, the date and IP of signup, subscription status (pending, confirmed, unsubscribed), and the exact consent text you agreed to at signup. The site also records anonymous access statistics (page viewed, country, device, time on page) using an identifier derived from your IP combined with a salt that rotates daily — the IP itself is never stored, and the same visitor produces a different identifier the following day, preventing any cross-day tracking. We collect nothing beyond that. The site does not use tracking cookies, analytics with personal identifiers, or advertising trackers.
Purpose
Solely to send the daily editorial digest. We do not sell, trade, or share your email with third parties.
Legal basis
Freely-given, informed, and unambiguous consent, provided by you at signup (LGPD art. 7º, I). The exact text you agreed to is recorded in our database as evidence.
Sharing
Email delivery is operated by Resend Inc. (data processor), which processes your email only to deliver the message. Resend has its own privacy terms. No other third party receives your data.
AI Lab
When you use AI Lab tools, we log the inputs (typed text, uploaded files) and outputs produced by the tool, linked to your subscription, exclusively for service quality and tool improvement. These logs are never shared with third parties beyond strictly necessary operators (Anthropic, for the AI models). You can request full deletion at any time via the DPO.
Retention
We retain your email while your subscription is active. After cancellation, we keep the address in a suppression list for 12 months solely to prevent accidental re-subscription. After that period, we delete it completely.
Your rights
Under LGPD (art. 18) you have the right to: access your data, correct incomplete or outdated data, request anonymization or deletion, request portability, and revoke consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email the DPO above or click "unsubscribe" in any email you receive from us.
Security
Your data is stored on encrypted infrastructure (Supabase, sa-east-1 region). Access is restricted to the responsible editor.
Changes to this policy
Material updates will be communicated to subscribers by email at least 30 days in advance. The current version is always on this page.
